NorCENergy Consultants, LLC is a consulting services company that specializes  in providing clients with advice regarding energy issues in the North Central United States.  Client services include:
  • Strategic Planning
  • Generation Planning, including technology and site selection
  • Renewable Energy, including technology assessment and project feasibility
The chief operating officer and founder of NorCENergy Consultants is Thomas H. Fehring, a registered professional engineer in Wisconsin and Michigan with over 35 years of experience in the energy business. 

Tom formerly was vice president and general manager of We Power LLC, a subsidiary of Wisconsin Energy Corporation.  We Power designs, builds and owns new power generating facilities – including a 1,100 megawatt combined-cycle power facility in the City of Port Washington, and a 1,230 megawatt coal-fueled generating facility adjacent to the Oak Creek Power Plant.

Tom worked for Wisconsin Energy and its subsidiary companies for most of his career, holding numerous positions including project manager for the engineering and construction of the Germantown Power Plant, manager of the Pleasant Prairie Power Plant, assistant manager of the Oak Creek Power Plant, director of financial management, manager of system engineering, and corporate secretary of WEC and its principal subsidiaries.

Fehring graduated from Marquette University with bachelors and masters degrees in mechanical engineering and is recipient of Marquette’s Engineering Alumni Service Award as well as its Professional Achievement Award.

He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, in which he serves as chairman of its local history and heritage committee.  He is a recipient of the society’s Centennial Medallion.

Additionally, Tom is a member of the Marquette University College of National Engineering Advisory Council, a Trustee of the Village of Whitefish Bay (Wisconsin) and a member its Historic Preservation Commission, and a member of the Society for Industrial Archeology.
